GoAP will not tolerate erring police: Taram

HOLLONGI | May 24 | Checking vehicles and making  entries at check gates are neither  proper nor records maintained properly by those manning the cheek gates, Home Parliamentary Secretary Pani Taram said while conducting  surprise inspection in all nakas and check posts of Capital Complex today..

He found that a commercial truck hit Hollongi Check post and damaged the entry gate was temporarily repaired later with the help of police and security personnel and passerby and advocated to strengthen all check posts in the state.

In view of attack on audit & pension director Md A Basit on Monday last, Taram began his surprise inspection around 6 PMon Tuesday here followed by Hollogi, Chimpu, Banderdewa, Gumto and nakas to take a stock of the situation and alertness of the cops.

He  continued inspection till wee hours today and directed the security personnel to maintain vigil and remain alert to ensure law and order.

When pointed at lack of police  personnel at Hollongi, Gumto and Banderdewa, Taram said that the matter was reviewed on Tuesday. The GoAP have created post to overcome the shortcoming as the recruitment process is in progress, Taram added.

When asked why all the vehicles are not been registered at  check gates,  he said he has viewed it seriously and warned the officers for the negligence and action will be initiated for security lapse.

On the other hand, Capital DC Prince Dhawan also carried out inspection at Nirjuli, Naharlagun and Itanagar to check  deployment of security personnel and directed City SP to provide more security personnel to Itanagar/ Naharlagun/Banderdewa to maintain law and order situation.

DC further said that he have requested the City SP to provide at least one security personnel to at all vulnerable location like Directorate office building and Market areas and other specific location which are designated by administration.
